Sentosa: the back story
The back story
About Sentosa: the back story
Sentosa is Singapore’s resort island, reached from HarbourFront: beaches, Resorts World Sentosa, Capella and Raffles Sentosa (sentosa.com.sg).
The beaches
Siloso, Palawan and Tanjong beaches stretch across about 2 km of the southern coast, linked by a beach tram: Siloso is the busiest, Palawan has its suspension bridge and calmer water, and Tanjong is the quietest. Lifeguards are on duty at Palawan and Siloso from 9am to 7pm, and smoking is prohibited on all three beaches (sentosa.com.sg).
Fort Siloso
Fort Siloso sits at the western end of the island, with the Fort Siloso Skywalk through the forest canopy (sentosa.com.sg).
Go on a weekday, and stay for sunset on the beach.
The resorts
Capella, on The Knolls, and Raffles Sentosa, on Bukit Manis Road, are the island’s grandest addresses.
Our advice: book a treatment at the Auriga Spa and make a day of it.
